Adult Lessons & Teen Group Lessons

The Teen and Adult Swimmer Program is for beginners who may be just starting out, or swimmers who want help with their strokes. Within the Teen and Adult Swimmer curriculum, participants set their own goals to develop water confidence and smooth, recognizable strokes. Activities to teach Water Smart® education key messages are incorporated into all levels. Instructors are prepared to adapt these items and awards to accommodate the needs of adult learners and provide the flexibility for them to select the skills they want to learn in order to achieve their personal swimming goals.

Swim Abilities 1, 2, 3, & 4

SwimAbilities® is a multi-leveled program that is geared towards participants aged 3 to 16 with specialized needs (1). This program is for anyone who needs additional support to develop fundamental physical literacy skills and safety routines for aquatic activities, or for participants that could benefit from a slower paced class than typical Learn to Swim swimming lessons. Participants are taught swimming skills, safety routines, and Water Smart® education by Lifesaving Society certified SwimAbilities® Instructors. The SwimAbilities® program is designed so that students are able to come in and out of the program as individual needs change. Each participant is required to have a caregiver or aid in the water with them during the lesson.

Water Fitness Classes

Low Impact Water Fitness

Our low impact water fitness class is a senior-geared class that helps to develop and maintain flexibility and basic movement by using the water to improve overall total body strength and endurance, with emphasis on improving the stability and functional strength of the core.

Water Fitness

Water Fitness is a low-impact, high-energy form of exercise performed in shallow or deep water that blends cardio, strength, flexibility, and balance training. Using the natural resistance of water, it provides an effective full-body workout while being gentle on the joints. Water fitness improves cardiovascular endurance, builds muscle tone, enhances mobility, and supports overall wellness. Suitable for all ages and fitness levels, it’s especially beneficial for beginners, older adults, and anyone recovering from injury or managing joint pain. With energizing movements and a refreshing environment, water fitness offers a fun, safe, and empowering way to stay active and healthy.

Volunteer Program

Lifeguards In Training (LIT) is a volunteer program for youths aged 12 to 15 years who are interested in becoming a lifeguard/swim instructor. This program will provide an opportunity for youth to work with a lifeguard/instructor on deck and in the pool. Volunteers will also earn credits towards their advanced course.
