The City of Lacombe Recreation Services offers Youth Recreation Hockey, intended for those children interested in playing non-competitive, no contact shinny, and who are not registered in another minor sport (e.g. ringette or ice hockey). Space is limited to 25 participants per session. Each group will have 1.25 hours of ice time weekly during their session.
Schedule
Sessions run one night per week in the fall from November to January and the winter from January to March. A list of dates will be available with registration.
- Friday Session ‐ Group 'A' (10‐13 years) 8:30 - 9:45 pm
- Saturday Session ‐ Group 'B' (6‐9 years) 7:45 - 9:00 pm
Equipment requirements
Minimum equipment requirements include a CSA approved helmet with face cage, a hockey stick, hockey gloves and hockey skates. Full gear is not required but accepted if children prefer.
Volunteers
Parent Volunteers are required to assist our coach volunteer on ice for instruction & supervision. Parents are encouraged to get involved by assisting on or off the ice. Please advise at registration if you can volunteer.
