Due to low ridership resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, BOLT Transit is suspending its evening express route (leaving from Red Deer at 8:24 p.m.), effective Monday, April 6, 2020. In addition, BOLT will not be running on Good Friday (April 10) or Easter Monday (April 13).

The rest of the service schedule remains intact, and measures have been put in place to ensure physical distancing guidelines are maintained on board the buses. Please see the temporary bus schedule for more information.

BOLT Regional Public Transit provides service to Blackfalds, Lacombe and Red Deer.

BOLT monthly regional card holders may transfer to Red Deer Transit Route 10 to access Red Deer Hospital, Red Deer College, and Bower Mall at no extra cost.

BOLT Transit has automated fare boxes on its buses. Riders pay for their fare using a re-loadable fare card or exact cash amounts, as the drivers cannot make change. Riders must attain their original fare card from Red Deer Transit at Sorensen Station between 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday. An initial $5.00 fee allows riders to register their card, so it can be cancelled and the balance transferred if the card is misplaced.

Riders may reload their cards each month at:

Blackfalds - Abbey Centre
Lacombe - Mary C. Moore Library
Red Deer - Sorensen Station & City Hall
