Formed in 2014, the Lacombe Traffic Safety Advisory Committee (LTSAC) is a committee of Lacombe citizens who provide advice to the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) on matters related to traffic safety in the city of Lacombe.
The LTSAC is part of a broader effort to improve overall traffic safety in the community, which started in 2012 with upgrades to highways 2A and 12, as well as the introduction of an automated photo enforcement program to compliment conventional traffic enforcement.
The committee meets every three months to evaluate issues and concerns relative to traffic, pedestrian, and bicycle safety.
The LTSAC consists of four members-at-large and a Peace Officer (liaison), with the CAO as an ex-officio member. Current members of the LTSAC include:
Public at large Members:
Thalia Hibbs, Chair
CAO Norma MacQuarrie
Since its formation, the LTSAC has made a number of traffic safety recommendations, such as adopting the Alberta Traffic Safety Plan Calendar and the Report Impaired Driver Program. Get the full details on these initiatives and more in the Lacombe Traffic Safety Advisory Committee Annual Report (PDF).
