Public Skate

Free Public Skating (Sept. 28, 2018 - March 24, 2019)

Public Skating is cancelled March 22, 2019. The last day of Public Skating is March 24, 2019.

Fridays: 6:45 p.m. to 8:15 p.m.
Sundays: 12:45 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. 

Location: Can Pak Ice Complex arena #2

Please note that public skating is cancelled for minor sport tournaments or arena closures on:

  • November 9th & 16th 2018
  • December 14th, 23rd, 28th, & 30th 2018
  • January 18th, 2019

Parent & Tot Skate

  • Monday’s from 12-1 pm on the front ice surface (Can Pak arena #1)
  • Preschool children and parents
  • The cost is $4.00/adult (pay at the Pool Desk)
  • Hockey sticks are welcome

Daytime Public Skate

  • Thursday’s from 12-1 pm on the front ice surface (Can Pak arena #1)
  • No hockey sticks allowed
  • The cost is $4.00/adult (pay at the Pool Desk)

Adult Shinny Hockey

The City of Lacombe is offering Adult Drop In Shinny Hockey
Tuesday & Fridays at 12:15-1:30 pm and Wednesday nights at 10-11:15pm on Can Pak #1

  • $4.00 per Adult
  • Starts September 2018 to March 2019
  • 10 Punch passes are available for $40 

Rules and Considerations:

  • No body contact
  • No slap shots
  • No fighting
  • 18+ only
  • Full equipment recommended
  • Drop in /non-organized

Outdoor Ice Rinks/Storm Water Ponds

  • An outdoor rink with boards/nets and lights is located behind Can Pak arena #2
  • Cranna Lake
  • Royal Oak
  • Iron Wolf
  • Les Walker Pond
As winter approaches, many outdoor enthusiasts enjoy spending time ice-skating, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, broom balling, and playing hockey on our frozen lakes and ponds. The City of Lacombe allows residents to use local storm water ponds - at their own risk - for recreational activities once the ice reaches a suitable thickness. Please obey to all signage pertaining to ice safety.
