Lacombe's Recycling Depot is located in the Wolf Creek Industrial Park at 5214 Wolf Creek Drive.

What Happens to the Recycled Material?

Waste Management collects Lacombe's recyclables 3 times per week and takes it to a recycling facility.  There, workers use advanced equipment to sort the items by material type and other qualities.  The sorted materials are compressed into large rectangular bales and shipped to processing plants to be made into new products.
 
Did You Know...
Residents in the Town of Lacombe and Lacombe County recycled 793,120 kilograms of plastic, paper and cardboard in 2009.

How Does it Work?

Albertans Recycle privately offers a door to door service for residents to have their recycling picked up at their residence.

 

What is Accepted?

Albertans Recycle picks up glass, tin cans, cardboard, newspaper and #2 plastics at this time.

Your recycling would be picked up every second Thursday.

 

What is the Cost?

The cost to have your recycling picked up by Albertans Recycle would be $16.00 per month.

Compost Site

 

Where is it Located?

Lacombe's Compost Site is located in the Wolf Creek Industrial Park at 5214 Wolf Creek Drive (same location as the Recycle Depot).  

You can also find green grass bins located around Lacombe.

   

What is Accepted?

The compost site and green grass bins accept grass clippings and garden tops.  Brush clippings, tree tops and limbs are to be taken to the Prentiss Landfill site east of Town.


What Happens to the Compost Material?

Our composted materials are taken to the compost site in the Wolf Creek Industrial Park.  It is turned on a regular basis by the public works staff.  The composted material is available for the public to take and use in their garden.
