Snow Removal

The Town's revised Snow Removal Policy sets out work procedures and priorities for snow clearing and ice control. The purpose of the policy is to enhance traffic movement and provide satisfactory driving and walking surfaces wherever reasonably possible. Sidewalk Replacement Policy

Following a comprehensive review and evaluation in 1992 of all the sidewalks in Lacombe the Sidewalk Replacement Policy #32/220 93PO was approved by Town Council. The policy outlines the priorities and schedule for replacement to ensure every year sections of sidewalks are replaced for the safety of residents. Wheelchair ramps will be installed during replacement or as directed by Council.

Prior to replacement residents adjacent to scheduled sidewalk replacement will be notified to determine if they are in favour of an improvement levy. In areas where the residents object to the replacement of adjacent sidewalks hazardous sidewalks will be removed and the area landscaped back to grass.
