How and Where do I licence my dog? Required by municipal bylaw, dog licences are available at the Town office at an annual cost of $23 ($13 for seniors aged 65-plus). A licence greatly improves the chances of your lost pet being returned!
What are my responsibilities as a pet owner?
I'm having a Garage Sale can I put up signs? Garage sale signs are an eyesore and often create litter. Besides YOUR OWN property, the only place garage sale signs are permitted to be posted within Lacombe are on the garage sale notice boards located at the Lacombe Memorial Centre and the Recreation Complex. Anyone who places such signage on Town boulevards, sidewalks, streetlights, etc. may be ticketed and fined. Any such signs found will be removed and destroyed.
When riding my bicycle on the trails or sidewalks what are my responsibilities? Cyclists are reminded that it is illegal to operate a bicycle in an unsafe manner on any sidewalk within the Town. Cyclists MUST yield to pedestrian traffic at all times.
Can I park my trailer or fifth-wheel on the street? Parking of recreational vehicles is permitted on the streets of Lacombe ONLY between May 1 and September 30, and provided they do not pose a traffic or safety hazard. This does not apply to boat, utility or commercial trailers. When using your own driveway to park your recreational vehicle, please ensure that it is fully contained within your property. No portion of the recreational vehicle is permitted to protrude onto a public street, lane or sidewalk.
I would like to plug in my car or trailer on the street can I just run a cord? Electrical extension cords must not be placed across public sidewalks or driveways because they create a dangerous trip hazard. If you need to plug in your vehicles or trailers, please ensure that the extension cord is suspended 8 feet (2.4 metres) above the sidewalk. This requirement is in effect all year round.
Who is responsible for keeping my sidewalk clear? It is the responsibility of all residents, whether they own or rent their home, to keep public sidewalks adjoining their property clear of ice, snow, sand or other debris. You are required to clear away snow and ice within 48 hours of the time when the material was formed or deposited.
Can I shovel the snow and debris from my sidewalk or driveway onto the street? Snow, ice, sand and other debris cannnot be shoveled into nearby gutter or onto any other portion of a public roadway, and no such material removed from private property may be place on streets or other public places of the Town. Water dripping from an awning, eavestrough or other part of a building onto a public roadway or sidewalk must be removed by the owner or occupier to prevent the formation of ice. |
