Sessions run one night per week in the fall from October to December, and in the winter January to March.

PROGRAM:  The Town of Lacombe Recreation Services offers a Recreation Hockey program that includes a combination of skill development and game time.  The program is for children 6-13 years of age, interested in playing no contact shinny with a soft sponge puck, and who are NOT registered in another minor sport (ie. Ringette or Hockey).  Space is limited to 25 participants per session.

This program is designed for children who want to play and are either learning or do not want to play on the competitive level.  Teams are established every game night to ensure the skill levels are balance.  Each group will have 1 hour and 15 minutes of ice time weekly during their session.

SCHEDULE:  This program is divided into two sessions which run 8-10 weeks:

Ages 6-9 play Saturday evenings from 8:15 to 9:30pm

Ages 10-13 play Friday evenings from 8:30 to 9:45pm. 

REGISTRATION:  FALL REGISTRATION is OCTOBER 5, 2010.  Call 403-782-1284 to register your child or for more information.  Register at the Recreation Office in the Lacombe Sports & Leisure Complex.  Registrations are accepted over the phone with a Visa or Mastercard Number.  In Person payment can be made with Cash, Cheque, Debit, Visa or Mastercard.  

EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS:  The only equipment required is a CSA approved helmet (with face guard), stick, skates and gloves.

VOLUNTEERS:  Volunteers are welcome to assist with running this program.  Parents are encouraged to get involved by assisting on or off ice.
