2019 Recreation & Culture Grant program – approved community projects

Lacombe, Alberta (March 14, 2019) – The City of Lacombe is pleased to announce the community initiatives approved to receive funding from the 2019 Recreation and Culture Grant Program, which supports new local programs and services that enhance the quality of life of residents through recreation and/or culture. This is the sixth year of the grant program.

“The City is excited to collaborate with community organizations to give residents opportunities to enjoy recreation and culture experiences in supportive physical and social environments,” said Recreation and Culture Manager Sandi Stewart. “The approved projects will benefit many in our community, as they learn to get active with their dogs, take photos in vintage costumes, box to help with neurological conditions, or use art to engage those living with dementia.”

The City of Lacombe provided $12,500 to facilitate the 2019 Recreation and Culture Grant Program.  Grant submissions totaling over $26,500 were received for consideration, and the Lacombe and District Recreation Parks and Culture Board approved the allocation of the funds at their March 12, 2019, meeting.
